A Little Bit About Lulu

Hello. My name is Lulu,

I'm thirty years young who adores fifties to early sixties fashion and I live in the UK with my husband Paul, our baby boy Winter and our furkids Pumpkin and Sookie.

Lulus Wonderland is my little space on the internet to share my love for vintage fashion, everyday pinup style, adventures with my besties and the odd bit of baking. By day I work as a health care administrator and by night I'm a pinup girl who loves Harry Potter, Disney and if I'm not reading a good book you'll find me curled up on the sofa watching Riverdale or Twin Peaks- The Return.

I adore anything thats vintage related, Autumn is my favourite season (though I do love Winter) and I'm a huge brooch hoarder.

I'm just a dress wearing little lady who loves all things vintage and retro.

Thank you so much for visiting! I'm glad you're here!

Outfit Of The Day - Happy Birthday Handsome!

Today is my fiances birthday so I'd like to wish him a very Happy Birthday! Its crazy to think that this is the last birthday before we are husband and wife, and once its my birthday in July we'll be married! Arghhh! Crazy how time goes by so quickly, its true when people say it'll fly by as it really does!

We decided to take my camera with us to our Starbucks date this morning and snapped a few 'Outfit of the Day' photos.

Paul's outfit - Beanie - Carhartt, Sweater - Thrasher, Jacket - H&M, Jeans - H&M, Footwear - Vans half cab.

Lulu's outfit - Jacket - Henry Holland, Jumper - Lana del Ray for H&M, Maxi skirt - Topshop, Ankle socks - Topshop, Footwear - Vans, Bag - Topshop

I made Paul some Oreo pops which are Oreo biscuits covered in chocolate on a stick with your choice of decoration. In this case i used sprinkles and edible glitter, i thought the glitter would go down well and make them more of a celebration. I also made him a Oreo birthday cheesecake as well as i didn't have any eggs to make an actual cake. Both went down well and he said they taste great too!

Tonight we're off out for dinner at our favorite restaurant called The Seafood Cafe. We are also having a get together on Friday with our friends to celebrate which I'm excited about. I still cant decide what to wear but i need to be warm as I'm run down with a cold at the moment. Ive been taking my vitamins and drinking plenty of water so thinking positive!

Much love
Lulu xx

Lulu's outfit -

Did everyone have a good weekend? I had my little sister over with my brother as it was her 4th birthday. It was great to spend time with them and hang out. Tilly-Bluebells best friend Elle and her sister Mia came to visit. These two i adore and they are my best friend Keri-Anne (gingerlillytea) girls and i think that makes it even more special.
Oh and did anyone go to London Fashion Week or watch online? I'll be doing a post about my favorites sometime this week.

Pinterest Weekly - Home Sweet Home

Here are my favorite pictures Ive pinned from Pinterest this week -

The most adorable cottage door and the perfect colour. All most reminds me of The Secret Garden with the leaves and plants. One day i hope to have a home with a door like this.

I like the idea of having a seating area to look out the window, read a book and have a countryside view to look at. Just perfect.

I'm in need of a new sofa, this would look great along with the cushions too! Minimal but still have a vintage feel.

I'm loving the idea of finding an old TV set/stand and transforming it into a drinks cabinet. Paul loves a small glass of whiskey at the weekend so this would be perfect for all our bottles to sit in. Love the mustard colour too!
Duck egg blue kitchen! Its almost dreamy to have a old fashioned sink and taps, to look out of the window to a wonderful view or pretty flowers in the garden.

I fell in love with this picture as soon as i saw it! Very retro with the black and white flooring, 4 legged bath and a shelf unit used to keep your towels. Love it!

High ceilings, open space, clean colour scheme throughout, fresh breeze coming through the window and a roaring fire in the winter seasons. Beautiful.

Our plan to move to the country is on our minds a lot lately but were going to wait until after the wedding. There's no real rush but id like to be moved before i have a baby for sure. This house were in just isn't ideal for lugging a pram in and out, let alone room for a cot in our bedroom!

Have a wonderful day everyone! Im off into the kitchen to bake a cake :D

Much love

Run Rabbit Run..

Hello dears,

I've been pretty down the last few weeks as I've been out of work recently so i thought to clear my head I'll start doing a mile a day or more of walking. I did my first brisk walk/jog on Tuesday and i managed 4 miles in an hour. I'm no runner so i thought start of slowly and jog for 5 minutes then walk, alternating between the two until my heart rate levels out. It was such a lovely sunny day and that made me feel instantly better. They say when the sun is out more people are happy, its so true! It was still a little breezy but once i got walking i didn't feel it. I did another 4 miles out in the country with my Mum on Wednesday and i ended up with blisters. We walked from my parents house in Nether Heyford to Bugbrooke and back again. Boy it was hard with a few big hills and uneven roads, I really do need to get myself a pair of decent walking/running trainers. Yesterday i didn't go out due to my feet hurting and not having the correct footwear so i did a work out at home. A day to relax and look after my feet.

I would love your advice- Do any of my readers go running? Any tips on how to get better at it? Advice on trainers to wear?

Much love

Bake Days - Easy Chocolate Cheesecake

Hello dears,
I haven't made a cheesecake for ages and really wanted to try a easy chocolate flavored one to share with you. There are many cheesecakes that take hours but this is great if you want to make something quickly. I was watching my usual Saturday morning food show and they did something similar and i just had to try it. This recipe is super easy and you only need 5 ingredients!

Ingredients you'll need -
280g Chocolate chip and hazelnut cookies
160g Philadelphia chocolate cream cheese x2 packets
300mls Double cream (Or as much as you like)
75g Butter
Dark chocolate for decoration
Spring cake tin

Start of by melting the butter in a small pan on a low heat or microwave for 40 seconds until melted. Put that to one side and get the cookies, place in a food bag and bash until broken up but not tiny crumbs. Now put the cookie crumbs in a large bowl and pour over the melted butter. Combine the mixture and then place in a spring cake tin, flatten down to cover the bottom.

Get a separate bowl and empty the contents of the cream cheese and gradually add the double cream whilst using a hand mixer. Once all is combined cover the cookie crumb base and spread with a spatula. Now make sure the whole base is covered and pop in the fridge for 1 hour.

Remove from the fridge and grate dark chocolate over the whole cheesecake. Cut into a generous slice and there you have it. A super easy chocolate cheesecake! Enjoy!

(I only used 1 tub of cream cheese and half the cream but amended the recipe so its a thicker layer. I wasnt sure how much i'd need as this was the first time i had made it.)

Much love

This weeks picks are based on cookbooks I'd like to add to my collection -

I'd love to learn how to cook Parisian dishes and a dear friend of mine recommended this! Reminds me of my Grandmas cooking, she speaks fluent french and always does French themed dinner parties.

I own the first Vintage Tea Party book and i love it! Great recipes and how to hair up dos retro style. Look forward to one day owning this one too :)

I have yet to try making macaroons and after watching Great British Bake Off last summer i really want to try! My favorite flavor is Lavender or Pistachio. Whats yours?

Do you have any cookbooks you can recommend? I'm always on the look out for new books and recipes to try.

Much love

The Other Day

Hello dears
Well i had a lovely day on Valentines Day and thought id share a few pictures with you. I hope everyone has had a wonderful week and enjoyed Valentines!

I met Paul for a slice of carrot cake at Costa Coffee in town on his lunch break. Hes forever making me laugh!
Paul brought me a dress I'd been lusting after from Topshop. I was super happy because it was in the sale half price!

I set the table and made Paul a felt heart with a pouch at the back. I filled the heart with Love Heart sweets and placed a small note on the top.

Our starter - Coquilles St-Jacques (Scallops in a creamy white wine sauce, garnished with mashed potato and cheddar cheese crumb)

Main course - Baked sea bass with chilli butter and roasted Mediterranean vegetables.

Dessert - Triple chocolate mousse tart with handmade cake toppers i did.

A box of chocolates to indulge in that evening whilst watching Moonrise Kingdom.

Paul and I

The small felt heart i made and the card i got Paul.

We were pleasantly full after our meal and enjoyed the film. A little tipsy from a couple of glasses of Cava hehe! What did you get up to?

Pinterest Weekly - Forever Fifties

I love the fifties era from the style of clothes they wore to the cars they drove and I have so much fun finding pictures on Pinterest. Here are this weeks pics -

I don't own a pair of jeans or trousers as i just wear skirts like this and dresses. I love how it makes your waist smaller and i think you look more feminine showing your natural curves.

Perfect swimwear! They all look amazing! No stick thin ladies here.

I don't drive but if i did this would be my dream car for sure.

Cute blouses with pretty details teamed with a skirt of course.

I would love to find vintage retro furniture like this and style my home with a fifties vibe.

(All pictures taken from my Pinterest board that I've re-pinned from others)

Do any of you have an era you love? :)

Have a great afternoon everyone! The sun is shining finally today so I'm hoping it begins to get a bit warmer now, there's still a cold breeze in the air!

Much love
Lulu xx
