Things I Love - Picks Of The Week

The last few weeks I've been looking for a cute outfit for the day after our wedding and I've seen a couple I've been lusting over at Topshop! My fave shop of course but I always wait for anything I like to go in the sale as I find them a little overpriced. And guess what? They're in the sale yay!!! Here are the dresses I love and accessories to go with them. Fingers crossed they're still in the sale when I get my first wage packet from my new job next week!

1.

 2.
 3.
4.

5.
6.

1&2. Pretty prom style dresses from Topshop. The peach one knee length & the lemon one midi. They remind me of what Lemon would wear from Hart of Dixie!
3. Initial necklace of P&L would be perfect
4. Cream & peach flower crown (not sure where this ones from)
5. Cute clog style shoes
6. Marc B small quilted bag to finish the outfit

Today its my day off to catch up on blog drafts and get more things ticked off our wedding list of things to do. The major thing to get done today is email our DJ of what music we'd like and to give him an idea of what we want.

Yesterday was my first full day at my new job as a salon receptionist and I was pretty much on my feet for 9 hours! I haven't worked in a salon for nearly 4 years so its getting use to be on my feet again. My job is not just to answer the phone but I also have to be head of house and make sure everyone has everything they need. I'm loving it!

Much love

My Amazing Hen Do! Part 2

Hello my lovely readers!

Firstly I'd like to apologize for not doing my weekly features the last week or so. I've just started a new part time job as a salon receptionist and also trying to finish getting prepared for Paul & I's wedding next Friday! I will try my best to do my regular posts but I hope you understand if I don't manage to do so :)

Here are some more of my hen do pictures taken by my maid of honor Hannah. Enjoy!

I still can't believe its been over a week since my hen do and only 1 week and 3 days to go until the big day. Paul had his stag this past Saturday with his best man and close friends. They went for a few drinks and then had dinner at Pizza Express. He wasn't home too late and no hangover on Sunday which was a bonus! Paul's never been one to go out and drink but it was lovely to hear he had a great time.

I feel so blessed for all the close friends I have in my life and I will be forever grateful for everything they have done in the last few months. Roll on next Friday when I can share Paul & I's special day with all the people we love!

Much love

Things I Love - Picks Of The Week

Hello my lovely readers!

How are you all this evening? I've been lusting after mermaids and all things pastel this week! So many amazing things I'd love to own. My birthday is next month so I'll be hinting away to the soon to be hubby! ;) Here's my picks for this week -

Chic my name dress in Seafoam! Beautiful dress!

Mint oxford brogues. Not sure where they're from though.

These most cutest swimwear ever made!! Be a real mermaid! haha!

Complete your inner mermaid self with this hair clip beauty! I own a few mermaid treasures by the talented Rosie Squish!

This week has been pretty good so far and its only Tuesday. I had some training today for a few hours at my new job as a salon receptionist. Its been a few years since I last worked in a salon and feels weird to be back in one. I'm going back in for half a day this Saturday to overlook one of the other girls as I have quite a few things to learn.

I had a little happy dance when I got home as My Amazing Hen Do post was featured on Lottie Love Hearts top stories on her news letter today! You can see it here! Thank you Lottie for the little feature :)

Yesterday I won the Breathe Happiness competition and I couldn't believe I won! Shaneen one half of BH tweeted me to say my name got pulled out the bowler hat. I didn't realize until 2 hours after she had tweeted me. I look forward to getting my prize which is one of the portraits she did for her exhibition. You can look here from the gallery opening back in May. It will be signed, numbered and comes framed! All ready to be hung somewhere in our home :) Yay!

Well I hope you all have a wonderful day/evening whichever part of the world your reading this from. I got some exciting things happening on the blog in the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled!

Only 2 weeks and 2 days until the BIG day!!!!

Much love

My Amazing Hen Do!! Part One

This past Saturday I had my hen do organized by one of my best friends and maid of honor Hannah. My other best friend Keri-Anne helped Hannah with preparing and putting together the most amazing night! That morning I received my invite through the post explaining what the plan was for that evening. I untied the lace from the rolled up doily and read that I should meet at Most Marvellous at 7pm for a champagne tea party and have our hair styled vintage. I jumped up and down with excitement!!

That afternoon my dear friend and make up artist Chloe picked me up at 1pm and took me out for lunch at a place called The Brampton Halt. It was in the middle of the countryside and was surrounded by trees, a lake and nature walks. We sat outside in the sunshine, enjoyed great food and then indulged in a yummy gluten free chocolate torte with raspberries!

My friends Claire, Louise & India met me at home later that afternoon and we opened a bottle of bubbly to celebrate. We then headed out for a cocktail at a local bar for an hour or so before making our way to Most Marvellous. As I entered the shop, there was 40's music playing in the background, fairy lights decorated on my chair with my name on a banner, a table filled with sweet treats, goodie bags and champers. We enjoyed fresh sandwiches, warm scones with jam & cream, homemade cupcakes by Hannah & Keri-Anne.

After the tea party we all had our hair styled vintage by a friend of mine Laura of Madame Medusa, played twister and then had the option to look around the whole shop. I felt so spoilt and I'm truly grateful for what they did for me. We ended the night dancing away in a Hawaiian tiki bar and we were all home by 12am!

I loved every single minute of it and wouldn't change a thing! My best friends know me so well and just knew what I wanted. Love you all! Roll on the wedding!

Here are some of the photos from my iPhone (more photos to follow this week) -

I look forward to sharing more photos with you that Hannah took and sharing the post she did on her blog. Keep your eyes peeled!

Much love

Bake Days - Gluten Free Chocolate Cake

Hello dears!

I haven't made a chocolate cake in ages and was really looking forward to baking this one. I baked it once before and it turned out delicious so I thought I'd share with you. It has a firm yet fudge like texture, almost like a brownie.

Here's what you'll need -

200g (7oz) butter (I use Pure soya)
200g (7oz) dark chocolate
175g (6oz) caster sugar
4 large eggs (free range or organic)
2 tbsp ground almonds

1. Preheat the oven to 180c/fan 160c. Line a 20cm/8 inch round cake tin with nonstick baking paper.
2. Melt the butter and chocolate in a bowl set over a pan of simmering water, make sure the bowl doesn't touch the water.
3. Once that has melted, add the sugar and stir occasionally with a wooden spoon until the sugar has dissolved.
4. Let the mixture cool a little before adding the eggs one by one, mixing well between each egg. Then add the ground almonds and mix until smooth.
5. Pour the batter mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the centre is set but still a little wobbly.
6. Turn off the oven but keep the cake inside for another 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
7. Remove the cake from the tin, then wrap in clingfilm and store in the fridge. Take it out about 1 hour before serving. Serve in generous slices with a little whipped cream!

Enjoy! :)

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I think its finally summer here in Northampton and I'm loving it! I got a little tanned on my arms on Sunday after a 7 mile walk so I hope it kinda goes before the wedding. We weren't actually suppose to go on such a long walk and neither of us wore the correct shoes either!

I'm really excited about this coming Saturday as its my hen do and I'm really looking forward to going out and spending time with my closest girl friends. I obviously have no idea whats been planned but I know my best friends have been working there butts off. I'm hoping the dress I've ordered for the do turns up in the next couple of days or I'll have nothing to wear! Arghhhh!!

Well enjoy the weather everyone! Here are my picks this week -

1.

2.

3.

4.
5.

1. Beautiful flower crown from Topshop
2. Cutest collar on this dress!
3. And this baby doll dress
4. Sparkle gem hip flask from UO. Amazing!
5. Cute vintage style mini shelf that's perfect for all my jewellery.
