Sweet n Sour Vintage

I don't know about you but I love finding new Etsy shops that sell vintage reproductive handmade pieces. I was recently browsing Instagram and came across Sweet n Sour Vintage to find a stunning dress that caught my eye with a sweetheart neckline! Every detail of the dress was how a 1950's dress should be made. Perfect length, nipped in waist and of course made from beautiful vintage fabric. Everything a vintage-loving girl could ask for, right!?

Natalie the lovely lady who owns the online store became Instagram friends and she offered to make me a custom dress of my own. Girls, how could I say no to that! We spoke via email to get my measurements, choose fabrics, my desired length of the dress and what style I'd like. I choose to go for the Gaia dress that was the same pattern as the dress I had spotted on her page. I picked a tartan vintage fabric, as I don't own any tartan dresses and knew instantly I'd wear it throughout Summer.

Outfit Details
Gaia Dress: c/o Sweet n Sour Vintage // Cardigan: Primark (from last year) // Belt: Taken from my Pinup Girl Clothing - Katie dress // Brooch: Pink Collar collab (no longer available) - Luxulite // Shoes: Irella in Black by Bait Footwear // Bag: Vintage Etienne Aigner // Glasses: Skunkboy in Posey Pink by Bonlook (currently Out of Stock) // Lipstick: Lime Crime in shade Beetroot // Rings: BMM except my engagement ring.

I've been waiting for the weather here in the UK to be dry so I could run out to take some photos. The day I ventured out ended up being windy but hey it wasn't rain so I rolled with it, just excuse the wind swept hair! ;)

Now I didn't want to over accessorise this dress so kept it simple. A trusty Luxuite brooch that was a part of the Pink Collar ladies collaboration, my go-to sparkly glasses and a vintage bag. I loved the overall look and look forward to changing it up a little once it's warmer here to wear without those darn tights! Ha! The fit of the dress was a little big in the bust and shorter than my regular dresses I wear. But nothing a few tweaks to make it the perfect fit! Overall I love it and cannot wait to purchase a few more to add to my closet.

If you'd like to purchase your own custom made dress by Sweet n Sour Vintage, Natalie has kindly given me a discount code of 40% off for you to use until end of May. Simply add LULUS at the checkout. Leave in the comments if you purchase one and what style you've gone for! Also tell me where you love to shop for vintage inspired pieces?
