Werewolf // Vixen By Micheline Pitt

Happy Halloween to all my spooky readers!
How is it already Halloween?? It's my favourite holiday and it goes far too quickly. Todays post I'm treating you to some Vixen!

I've been wanting to get one of these Vixen by Micheline Pitt skirts for so long after hearing some awesome reviews. My wonderful husband purchased the red swing skirt along with the Werewolf tee for me last month as a treat. I'm pretty impressed to say the least at the quality of both items plus the skirt has pockets!! Like, huge pockets!!

The fit and sizing is hit or miss as per the comment reviews on the website for the swing skirt. I ordered an XL due to being in between sizes. I'd consider sizing up if you're in between sizes. It fitted me perfectly and has a little bit of room but I'm ok with that, as these run small in the waist. I didn't want to risk getting a size large for it to be too tight. The thick waist band doesn't fold down like swing skirts I've had previously. Meaning you don't get that annoying roll over and mid waist bulge.
It's made from a high quality stretch cotton sateen. I'm not wearing a petticoat as I thought it didn't need it but you can totally wear one if you wish!

The huge deep pockets are a plus to keep your essentials at hand. Check out the video I uploaded on my Instagram page here of my Mama & baby edition. Pretty funny what you can store in those pockets!

The baseball tee runs large due to being unisex, as advised by Micheline on the Vixen's Salon on facebook. I ordered a size small rather than my usual large and it fitted a dream. The fabric is soft and comfortable to wear all day. The sleeves are a great 3/4 length and the sizing of the tee itself are perfect to wear over jeans or trousers. Both of those I don't actually own but if you do they'll look awesome!! :)

As you can see the Werewolf print made me do some weird funny faces! Rawr!! I really hope Vixen come out with more of these tees in different colourways. I'd love more creatures or whimsical prints to add to my collection!!

Vixen by Micheline Pitt currently have a Flash Sale for 15% off the Halloween collection!! Trick or Treat yourself!!

We're caving our pumpkins tonight and watching some more Stranger Things S2 (its epic) then a movie or two. Winter is teething so he's been cranky the last few weeks. Keeping it chilled for him tonight after his bath. Next years Halloween he'll be bigger to do more activities. We did however take him to a party last weekend with my family. He loved it!

Do you have any plans? If so will you be dressing up?

The BEST Cropped Cardigans // Mak Sweater

You know when you find a piece of clothing you Love that you just wear them until they're falling apart? Well that's me with Mak Sweater cropped cardigans! They're my ultimate favourite cropped cardigan brand by far!

A few years back I purchased my very first one from Pinup Girl Clothing not knowing it was in fact made by Mak, I literally wore it until it looked rather worse for wear. After realising I couldn't live without it I decided to buy a couple more but this time from a UK based online store - Campbell Crafts. I was SO happy when they started stocking them as it meant I didn't have to worry about fricking custom charges!! WooHoo!!

I decided to put together a few photos that I'd previously taken for my Instagram page showing most of my cropped cardigan collection. I don't have all the colours but I'm getting there!

Now onto the sizing - I find its pretty much spot on with sizing and order a medium for my 40'' bust. They do have some stretch in them so all depends on your desired fit. I prefer mine to be fitted as I always have mine buttoned up. They also wash really well and don't fall a part like most cardigans you can by from the high street. I found these actually last and like I'd previously said, my first one lasted me over 2 years!

These are perfect for keeping you warm during the cooler months without covering too much of your outfit. The scooped neckline, 3/4 length sleeves plus neat buttons down the front make them simple but effective. They are cut to bring in your waist so you don't lose your shape which is what I'm always on the lookout for.

If you're like me and don't want to always order from the US, I've put together a few online stores that you can purchase in the UK & Europe. For my US readers I've added a few that aren't just from Pinup Girl Clothing.

Many thanks to Mak Sweater for gifting a few throughout the year from there Spring/Summer & Autumn/Winter range! Be sure to follow me on Instagram for my outfit posts and of course Mak Sweater :)

What are your favourite cardigan brands? I'd love to know!

Pumpkin Picking Halloween 2017 // The Popup Farm

Bringing something different to the Blog this week. I thought I'd share a day out with my Grandma  and Winter. We decided to venture to a Pop up Farm that wasn't too far from where my Grandma lives to go pumpkin picking, we wanted to do something special for Winters first Halloween and let him 'pick' his own pumpkin. We also wanted this to be the start of a yearly tradition for us.

I'm definitely that person that loves this time of year and loves everything pumpkin related, my best friend across the pond sends me a huge box of Halloween and pumpkin treats every year. Autumn is my favourite season after all.

Winter loved all the pumpkins I mean, look at his sweet little face! It was a beautiful sunny day and not too busy so we collected a wheelbarrow and strolled on down to the pumpkin patch. Winter was excited to sit in the wheelbarrow, of course we had to take lots of photos and the farm had photo prop areas which was perfect.

I let Winter have a crawl around in the hay and play with the pumpkins, we found a couple of small pumpkins that were decent (not rotten) and popped them in the wheelbarrow. Winter was looking after them and was hugging them on the way back to the stall to pay. It was seriously the sweetest thing ever seeing his face light up!

I wore my "Trick n Treat" sweetheart dress that was the perfect for pumpkin picking. Winter had on a skeleton onesie. A few lovely ladies complimented me on my outfit and of course that one person that thought I was wearing a costume! *LOL*

I can't believe that Winter is now 9 months old and growing up so quickly. It's hard to process that in 3 months he's turning 1 years old! *cry's*

Anyway back to Halloween... we're going to a Halloween party with my Mum and siblings tonight, we've been going there the last couple of years. Kids fancy dress party, games, entertainment, spooky train rides plus yummy food and drinks are included in the ticket too. We love it and I'm curious to see how Winter reacts or will he just be asleep throughout the whole evening? Either way its going to be tons of fun!

What plans do you have for Halloween? Do you know what you're dressing up as? I'd love to know your ideas!

Betty & The Artist // Rock & Romance

This past weekend my husband and I attending the wedding reception of our friends Chloe and Alex. It was a beautiful evening of love, laughter and lots of dancing. A week or so before I had a little freak out when I realised I had nothing to wear! Thankfully I received this gorgeous black Betty dress and knew instantly what I wanted to accessorise it with. I had a few lovely compliments which made my night, aside from the beautiful bride of course! I felt a million dollars thanks to Rock & Romance!

I decided on wearing my stunning Woody Ellen clutch that was gifted to me by Ellen herself at London Edge. Completed the look with a few pastel bangles and hair flower. However my curls didn't want to play ball but I worked with what I had!

I ordered my usual UK 14 and the fit/sizing of the dress was just right. I found the bust a little tight in the middle but that was my own fault due to the bra I was wearing. (Silly me) The length was just how I like my dresses. Overall verdict: Perfect!

Autumn Bloom // Karina Dresses

Autumn is here and I'm soaking it all in as it's my favourite time of the year! Beautiful leaves that have fallen, cool crisp mornings, pumpkin spice and all things nice! I'm THAT person who goes all out, especially running up to Halloween.
I was rather excited to receive this dress in the mail a couple of weeks ago from Karina dresses and I'm totally in love!

All the colours in this dress are perfect for this time of year, plus it goes so well with my auburn hair. The fit is so comfortable and flattering against my new found curves. The fabric is breathable and is made from microfibre fabrics so it never loses its shape, which is perfect for me as a new Mama to Winter. The wrap style brings in my waist that I always prefer to wear to show my shape. The length is a little longer than what I normally wear but I kinda like it, especially now its getting much cooler. The cross over neckline is perfect and with being said its great for breastfeeding Mamas too!

Karina dresses are definitely a new favourite of mine and I'm certain I'll be adding more to my closet. I found the sizing pretty much spot on but could of easily sized down from M/L to a S/M due to it having tons of stretch. This Margaret dress is American-made in Hudson, NY along with all their other beautifully made dresses.

Hawaiian Suzy // Rock & Romance

I love wearing all the floral prints during the Summer so I was delighted to receive this wonderful 1950s style dress from Rock n Romance. They kindly gifted me this as a birthday present back at the end of July.
The fabric is light with an elasticated waistband and ties up at each shoulder. I could of easily sized down from a size UK 14 to a UK 12 in this plus it's really flattering. The large pockets are ideal for carrying your phone and card wallet if you didn't want to carry a bag. Perfect for during the day or evening with a cropped cardigan, just like how I've styled it for you!

Being 5ft it is longer than the usual dresses I wear but I kinda like it. I found the belt that came with the dress a bit annoying as it kept loosening throughout the day. Meaning I had to keep adjusting it so I changed it up and opted for a basic white belt instead. This didn't change my mind about the dress itself though. I adore it and it's been a keen favourite this Summer for sure!

London Edge // Autumn 2017

Well I did it, I went to London Edge and I was extremely happy with myself. Over the last few years I've always wanted to go but my anxiety got the better of me. But since having Winter I want to push myself forward to get out to events. As this was my first London Edge I thought I'd go all out and wear a full Halloween themed outfit. All the black and orange!

I got the train down pretty early to make sure I had enough time to get to the venue. It ended up being straight forward and I arrived by 10am. I met up with my friend Jamiee to have a mooch around and catch up with a couple of other ladies too including Vintage Doll Laura.

Our first stop was checking out the new collection by Love U Look Clothing and oh my there's so many delightful pieces coming soon! There's definitely a few dresses and a certain jacket I'd like to get and I know they'll be very popular. Ronka allowed to take a couple of photos from an angle of whats to come. Excited for these new pieces to be available.

Jaimee having a browse through the current and Spring/Summer 18 collection.

I've been dying to see these amazing raincoats for ages in person and my gosh it wasn't disappointing! Each one is made using traditional methods to create these 'made to order' coats and there's many styles to choose from. The most popular design is the vintage style 1950s pleated design that has a belt around the middle and a hood to keep you pageboy dry. Perfect!

I didn't get the chance to try one on as it was quite busy but Melissa the lovely lady at the booth was very helpful. I definitely want to get one now its coming into Autumn, as I haven't found any other raincoat that's my kind of style.

Next was checking a new brand called Retuned Style, after engaging with them on social media a few weeks before. I was greeted to a warm smile and hug by Amanda which instantly made me feel at ease. Her lovely co-worker Sonia was just as lovely too. I got a little anxious walking around so I was happy to find them easy enough.

We got chatting about their new creations that are currently in production. Each piece is beautifully made with good quality fabric and fully lined. My top three were definitely the ones I've added below! I can see all these pieces becoming very popular and I'm excited for them, as I know lots of ladies who will love them just as much as me :)

What can I say, Woody Ellen bags are stunning! Jamiee and I got talking to the lovely lady behind Woody Ellen about how she creates them. Belgium artist Ellen started of as a children's book illustrator, before turning her paintings into bags back in 2013. Each piece is vibrant and the attention to detail is incredible. Truly inspirational.

After chatting for a while and talking about her artwork, she very kindly gave Jamiee and I a small clutch bag each! I mean, I was lost for words and truly honoured to meet her in person, let alone be given a bag from her collection! I'll definitely be buying a bag or two to add to my collection in the near future!

These were just a few from her collections including collaborations with Idda Van Muster and Acid Doll. Both were designed with each lady in mind!

We also got to meet her wonderful and charming husband Maarten who wanted a few photos taken with us.
Jamiee with her gifted clutch that went perfectly with her hair flower. Maarten & I. More photos can be found on their facebook page here
